Our little bunch enjoyed our last General Conference Weekend in Mexico. While we have been here among the Mexican saints we have learned, grown and come to love these people. We will miss all of the wonderful members of the church here in Mexico.
During conference weekend the stake centers are packed to capacity and tents are brought in to cover the parking lots to accomodate all of the members that want to listen to a prophet's voice. It is a wonderful sight to see and a great blessing to have the opportunity to be a part of this community of saints!
We 'gringos' meet in the High Council room to hear Conference in English. Our children will probably miss their comfortable chairs and a table to write on during the October conference of 2009.

Wow...that looks like a great time for you guys. How nice to see the willingness of the saints to sit in the warm parking lot to watch conference. How fortunate we are to have it broadcast into our individual homes in the USA.
This is so neat! Thanks for blogging about it. I LOVE that you are going to miss the members so much and I KNOW they will miss you just as much. Your little family is dearly missed here!
I remember you talking about the tents from your first conference experience -- how wonderful that so many come to hear conference and feel the spirit! We do take a lot for granted at times, don't we? But no matter what language or circumstance, when one hears the prophet and other general authorities, it is indeed a privilege!
I found you on Mormon Mommy blogs. Thanks for posting that photo of the saints watching conference outside. I'm going to share that with my Sunday School class (12 & 13-year olds). You have a great looking family.
