Our little crew took off out of Mexico City bound to have a great Christmas vacation - our stops were Salt Lake City, UT; Las Vegas, NV and a short visit in Dallas, TX!
Our first stop was a week in Utah - where we stayed with my sister's family and met, for the first time, our new neice/cousin! She is SO cute! While there we had a wonderful time sharing the beauty of Temple Square with our children. They loved the LDS Church Museum (with the children's section entitled, "I Am A Child of God"), the lights and nativity displays on Temple Square and our visit to the Church Administration Offices to give President Monson a welcome plaque reminding him of his time in Mexico during the re-dedication of the Mexico City Temple.
We were able to visit both family and friends - we visited my husband's great aunt and his great uncle! We enjoyed spending time with them as we don't have the chance to see them very often. Our whole family also enjoyed a wonderful Monday night with dear friends from Texas! We had a great time and we are looking forward to hosting one of the families here in Mexico in May!
I was able to visit a roommate from college as well as a mission companion! Our three youngest children got to visit with Santa Claus! (Our eldest didn't want to sit with Santa... the years are flying by!) Our youngest son and daughter's visit with Santa was sweet and adorable. Our second eldest daughter, when asked what she wanted for Christmas stated, "A cell phone, MP3 player and a laptop." At that point Santa looked up at us and just said, "Good Luck"! Thanks Santa!
It was a wonderful start to our Christmas holiday to remember our Savior and to visit our dear family and wonderful friends - those are the true gifts of this life!
